In Kothrud, a neighbourhood in West Pune, there is a popular restaurant called Hotel Durga which has been serving cold coffee to its patrons for many decades. Such is the popularity of this place that its name has almost become synonymous with cold coffee in the city.

The coffee comes in a tall glass with a thick layer of foam on top. Cocoa powder is sprinkled on it. The frothy foam is thick enough to be scooped up with a spoon and eaten on its own before enjoying the delicious coffee.

They serve other dishes such as misal pav, masala pav, sandwiches, South Indian snacks, etc. They also serve cold chocolate which comes in a similar glass.

This place is like an institution for cold coffee lovers and one can see the restaurant staff continuously preparing the beverage in batches, almost like a production line in a factory. People from all over the city and beyond visit this place and it has remained an iconic spot for many years.
