About
Nestled atop high ground in a bluebell wood in the village of Garvagh in Northern Ireland you'll find the Garvagh Pyramid.
Erected c.1820-30 by Lord Garvagh who was inspired during a grand tour of Egypt, this 21-foot-high pyramid on an 18-foot-square base mausoleum was his intended resting place.
When he passed away in France in 1840, he was never actually buried here. His wife lived for a further 51 years and opted not to be buried in the pyramid without her husband. It therefore lies empty to this day.
Know Before You Go
Very easy to find as it's located just beyond the car park of the Garvagh Forest.
