About

Considered one of the most beautiful and prestigious binding collections in the world, Bibliotheca Wittockiana was created by a passionate booklover, Michel Wittock. The only institution of its kind in the world, the bookbinding and book arts museum's permanent exhibition can only be visited by appointment.

The permanent collection includes more than 3,000 art bindings from the 16th to 21st centuries. The Wittockiana also organizes about four temporary exhibitions every year on the topics of bookbinding and book arts.

While an appointment is needed to view the museum's permanent collection, the reading hall and documentation library are accessible to the public.
