Obscura Day 2025: A Few Denver Gems
A historic diner, a comic book megastore, and an ice cream spot with a 28-foot-tall milk can.
Obscura Day is an Atlas Obscura tradition where the whole team takes a day off to explore—whether it’s a nearby hidden gem or a distant, wondrous site. Check out the places our team visited.

Each quarter, our company celebrates Obscura Day. It’s a day that we step away from our computers and explore the world around us. Friday was our summer Obscura Day, and I took the opportunity to explore some places in Denver. First stop was Chuckwagon Diner in Lakewood. It’s a historic diner with amazing food! Then it was off to Mile High Comics to check out their expansive selection of comic books and collectibles. We ended the day with a sweet treat at Little Man Ice Cream.
