About

Constructed by David Kemp in 1990, these two old sentinels remain to this day looking out across the land that was once home to countless industries. Built from the remnants of this industrial past, these sculptures provide a striking visual on the Coast 2 Coast cycle path, encouraging passers-by to stop for a moment and contemplate the forces that have shaped the landscape in this region.

Know Before You Go

Situated on the C2C cycle path, easily accessible for most people.  On-street parking is available nearby, below the bridge over Stoneyheap Lane; and the Number 78 bus calls regularly at the stops on the A693 at East Castle, a little to the North. Level access onto the C2C is from the A693 to the East.
