4th generation chair nerd on a mission to revive the ancient and global art of chair caning and seat weaving. Silver River Center for Chair Caning, the only chair caning school & museum in North America, run with co-nerd and husband, Dave Klingler. 2025 update: Now in Weaverville, NC, just 10 miles north of Asheville, the school and museum is excited to re-open after the flooding of the River Arts District in 2024. A large collection of WNC historical woven chairs, corn shuck chairs, Mid-Century Modern collections, a green-woodworking exhibit including a shave unicorn, a handmade broom making corner, and #canespotting - a collection of the woven cane pattern found in the wild. Warning! You might become a chair nerd.
