About
Have $6 and an empty afternoon with not much else to do in Rhode Island? Well take a visit to this historical museum. Sometimes you may be lucky to encounter a farmer's market taking place on it's lawn during the warmer months, however the real charm is seeing what life was like in the early days of Amercia.
Made in the late 1600s and maintained as a reminder to see how far we've come in terms of living comfortably.
Once started as a one room home made by Samuel Bennett in order to run his Saw Mill, has been sold to various people over the years and built up and was last lived in during the 1940s.
Each owner has done something different with the place and you can learn more about that with your visit here.
Know Before You Go
This sits off of RT117 in the middle of two roads you can turn on, Station Street and Holden Street. You'll have to find parking on the side of the road since there isn't a parking lot. Park on the side of Station Street since that is a non-residential road in that area, just don't block the Fire Station across the road from the Museum. Holden street is a residential road so while you can park on the side of the road there, it is frowned upon since the road is a narrower road and harder to navigate around parked cars.
