About

Tucked away in rural northern Rhode Island is a charming surprise, Spring Lake Arcade. This ode to the past is one of the last remaining arcades where nickels, or even a penny, can still get you a play on a collection of antique games. First opened in 1930, the arcade has served up summer fun for generations of Burrillville residents.

While the arcade does play host to some contemporary games, half of the space is devoted to carefully maintained antique amusements. Test your strength, go for a cross-country drive, torpedo a Nazi battleship, or race in the Kentucky Derby. Before you leave, pose in the photo booth and enter your shot in the annual funniest picture contest held every summer.

Know Before You Go

There is a fee to access the Spring Lake recreational complex where the arcade is located ($6 for non-resident/$3 for residents). The arcade is only open in the summer. In case of inclement weather, it’s best to check the town website to see if the beach and arcade are open.

The arcade is part of the Spring Lake recreational complex maintained by the town of Burrillville which includes a beach, playground, paddle-boat rentals, and snack bar, so if you visit the arcade, best to make an afternoon of the trip.
